To Japan. . . or NOT?!

I really did not expect that my scholarship application would go this far. I complied with all the requirements and sent my application thinking (HONESTLY!) that my records were not impressive enough for them to even give my application a second glance. Don't you have to be like a super genius to get into these kinds of scholarships?

Two months have passed since I supposedly (and luckily) passed the written exam. The other day, I got an email from the embassy asking me to call and Yes, by some miracle, I was told that I had also passed the interview and that they were now processing my papers to be sent to Tokyo.
To make the long story short, I have only to wait for the first week of January for that phone call which may mean that I may be flying to Japan this April.

At first when all was uncertain, I was super excited at the idea of studying there, but now that the dream is within reach... I'm not so sure anymore :(

So...

But I may still not get in, so why worry and make this decision now?
Why does January suddenly feel as if it's coming too fast. . . :(
