All because my Probstat grade was 2.6, give me a break, that's just 0.1 lower than 2.5!
But no, to qualify for the Dean's List you must not have a grade lower than 2.5. But come on, even with my 2.6, my average was still big... The dean said I should have been in 4th place (sa course ra ha..d sad the whole college.hehehe) .
:(
Isn't it really annoying how you work so hard for something only to find out in the end that only a teeny thing was holding you back from getting it? That makes me so........... Sad. ='c

Anyway, there I was feeling gloomy on the jeepney ride home. I was feeling pretty discouraged and down and depressed (Yes, low grades depress me, so what?! =p hehe ) .
Now I'm REALLY wishing my transfer application gets accepted. That's how sad I was!
While I was so busy feeling sorry for myself, in walks this old lady and she sits beside me in the jeepney. She was round and jovial and as soon as she sat down, she started fidgeting in her seat as she tried to fish coins out of her very big hadbag. As the jeepney was so crammed, all her fidgeting was not doing everyone good. The passengers started giving her angry stares which made her attempt at fishing out coins all the more difficult for her. She was already turning so red that you could not help but feel sorry for her as several insensitive people in the vehicle continued still to stare down at her.
After she got her 6 pesos out, she looked up and caught my eye. I didn't really know what to do... I'm not good at stuff like this. But I felt I needed to tell her that it was alright.
So, I gave her an "it's ok" smile.
She blinked at me and in a split second, her face was no longer red as she smiled back at me with a grin that was so wide I finally understood the 'smiling from ear to ear' phrase. She had a few missing teeth, but that smile was the most beautiful one I hed ever seen.
After that, we sat in companionable silence throughout the ride. But just with that one smile, I forgot my lousy 2.6 and I felt really, really, REALLY good.
I guess angels really do come in disguises.
Mine was a plump old woman with an oversized handbag with missing teeth and a beautiful smile. :)
